In the luscious, dark sequel to One Dark Window, Elspeth must face the consequences of what she's wrought – perfect for readers of Hannah Whitten's For the Wolf and Alexis Henderson's The Year of the Witching. Elspeth and Ravyn have gathered most of the twelve Providence Cards, but the last, and most important one remains to be found: The Twin Alders. If they are going to find it before the Solstice and cure the kingdom of the dark magic infecting it, they will need to journey beyond the dangerous mist-cloaked forest that surrounds their kingdom. And the only one who can lead them there is the monster that shares Elspeth's head. The Nightmare. And he's not eager to share any longer.

Readers largely found Two Twisted Crowns to be a captivating, atmospheric follow-up, with many considering it even stronger than the first book. Its gothic dark-fantasy mood, imaginative magic system, misty setting, and blend of menace, emotion, and occasional humor were widely praised, as was the more dynamic pacing and use of multiple viewpoints.
The expanded focus on Elm and Ione won over many readers, while the unusual, complex character relationships provided much of the emotional impact. However, some felt that Elspeth and Ravyn were pushed too far into the background, and opinions were divided on whether the additional perspectives enriched the story or diluted its central focus. Nagyon tetszett, hogy már több szemszögből követhettük a történetet. Nekem Elm története volt a legkülönlegesebb, mindig háttérbe volt szorítva, de most esélyt kapott, hogy bizonyítani tudjon.
Sokat nevettem a Lidérc és Rawyn szóváltásain. Akármilyen rossznak is tartottam a Lidercet, hogy Elspethet kispadra ültette, mégis vigyázott rá. A búcsúnál meg is könnyeztem őket. Az pedig csak ráadás volt, hogy a Yew család valójában kicsoda.
