Feyre survived Amarantha's clutches to return to the Spring Court - but at a steep cost. Though she now possesses the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can't forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin's people. Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, the mesmerising High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates his dark web of political games and tantalising promises, a greater evil looms - and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can step into her growing power, heal her fractured soul and have the courage to shape her own future - and the future of a world cloven in two...
Olvasói vélemények összefoglalója
Readers overwhelmingly regard A Court of Mist and Fury as a more immersive and emotionally powerful installment than its predecessor, praising its expansive world-building, memorable settings, and richly developed cast. Many found the book difficult to put down, especially once the story gained momentum, and appreciated its blend of tension, humor, adventure, and romance.
The character work is a major strength, with readers especially drawn to Feyre’s personal growth, Rhysand’s development, and the chemistry between the central pair. The supporting characters and sense of found family also made a strong impression, while the slow-building romantic thread was frequently described as compelling and emotionally intense.
The main criticism is the pacing: several readers felt the opening, or even the first half, was overly long and focused too heavily on Feyre’s suffering and inner turmoil. Some also found Feyre frustrating at times, the romantic scenes too sentimental, or the fantasy elements and prose somewhat excessive. Overall, this is a highly absorbing romantasy best suited to readers who enjoy atmospheric world-building, character-driven emotional arcs, and slow-burn romance, provided they are comfortable with a gradual start.
